When Sycamore Met Living Waters

The Turning Point — 2025

“Look at the fig tree, and all the trees; as soon as they come out in leaf, you see for yourselves and know that the summer is already near.”

— Luke 21:29–33

When I wrote Why the Sycamore Tree back in 2021, I ended with that verse — unaware it was more than a closing reflection. It was a prophecy. A whisper of what was to come. Something I could not have known.

At the time, I thought I was simply telling a story — tracing a childhood obsession with a tree that didn’t grow in Brisbane but somehow grew inside me. I thought it was about symbolism and solace.

Now I see it was about summons — a calling.

Because what Ura and I called Sycamore Wellbeing was never just a business for us.

It was a meeting place — the same way Zacchaeus climbed the Sycamore to see Jesus more clearly.

I didn’t know then what I know now: that the Sycamore has always been a prophetic tree of revelation, healing, and divine encounter.

God used this tree to help us see Him more clearly.

The Turning of the Leaf

When I returned from the US this year — after speaking at the Salt Palace in Salt Lake City and the incredible No More Dry Ground retreat for Christian women — I could feel it in my spirit: the pages had turned.

Even the world stage reflected it — you could sense it in the atmosphere, the shift, the awakening.

I honestly felt different, and I knew it was more than a new season — it was a new era.

Something had shifted in the unseen.

I saw it first in my husband — a man radically saved one year ago today, five years after I was — who is now halfway through his first year-long journey through Scripture.

And then in myself — the one who planted a tree long before she knew what kind of soil she stood on.

The Lord began showing me the image of leaves drifting upon still water — living waters, clear and unforced, meeting the branches of the Sycamore.

And I knew: this was grace.

Not work. Not striving.

Grace Meeting Roots

I’ve come to understand that the Sycamore has met the Living Waters — and curiously, this is where I am in Scripture in my first read-through of the Bible, in the Gospels, in John, today.

From Symbol to Source

“On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit… and the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations.”

— Revelation 22:2

They say one is changed through reading the Word.

This was the first scripture that caught my attention way back in 2020 when I was saved in August of that year.

It’s no coincidence that Sycamore leaves resemble those of the fig and mulberry — trees known for sustenance, sweetness, and shade.

It’s no coincidence that my brand — my literal calling — has always revolved around healing, wholeness, and restoration.

It’s what I am drawn to; it’s how God spoke to me in Egypt with the essential oils we discovered in Aswan, south of Luxor (ancient Thebes).

It’s what commanded my attention to step into the unknown and help others with.

What began as the pursuit of wellness and healing to help others has literally become worship.

What started as self-discovery has become divine assignment.

When Heaven and Earth Met in the Middle

When the disciples asked Jesus how to pray, He taught them something simple yet world-shaking: to hallow the name of God, to call in the Kingdom, and to declare “Your will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven.”

Without even realising, Ura and I, by stepping into our calling, were stepping into the Great Commission.

We were being used by God for His ministry long before we ever understood it.

The Sycamore Tree is the centre of our business — a Kingdom business.

It has always been bigger than us, and it stands at the intersection — where faith meets wellness, where calling meets community, where leadership meets grace.

And now, the waters have come.

Living Waters that cleanse.

Living Waters that flow through the cracks.

Living Waters that bring dormant roots back to life.

It’s as if every part of my past — from the child who climbed trees for peace to the woman who built a global team for purpose — was being grafted into one story.

His Story

As I look back over the years of growing Sycamore Wellbeing, I can see how every tool, every resource, and every conversation was preparing the soil for what we now understand it to be — a Kingdom movement.

If you’re new to this story or you’ve been journeying alongside us for a while, I want to invite you to begin — or begin again — with the Sycamore Wellbeing Welcome Pack (v6.0).

It’s a simple, prayerfully designed guide that helps you return to rhythm, reconnect with your purpose, and find peace in the process. Consider it your first step under the shade of the Sycamore Tree — a space where faith and wellness meet, and new life begins.

A New Chapter, A New Call

This is what it means to turn a new leaf.

It’s not about change for the sake of change — or a rebrand to chase the next vibe.

We are living through a powerful transformation through revelation — as a couple and as business leaders.

We are stepping into an era of grace, where what was once symbolic becomes spiritual — where Sycamore Wellbeing becomes not just a name, but a living parable in our own lives and in the lives of those we walk with.

“The leaves are for healing.”

“The branches are for refuge.”

“The roots run deep in living water.”

And perhaps that’s why I’ve been drawn to this work all along — because the Sycamore was never about me finding peace. It was about God planting purpose — and using us for His Kingdom.
